About Me

I’m Mark.

I’m Glaswegian, born and bred. I started podcasting in 2005 and immediately fell in love with the medium for its ability to let anyone share their voice and tell their story.

After a long career in digital marketing, I co-founded the Podcast Studio Glasgow with my eldest son. We specialise in helping businesses, charities, and corporations use podcasts to expand their marketing footprint and share their expertise.

I am a shortlist judge in the 2026 Scottish Podcast Awards.

In 2024, I started working on my first novel, which became ‘The Ghost of Hendo’.

It’s a novel that explores the reliability of our memories, the intangible moments of life that anchor us in reality, and how trauma can separate us from the people we love.

Tom ‘Hendo’ Henderson is in a long-term, loving relationship with his fiancée, Giulia Bellamy. A sudden heart attack on an Ayrshire beach begins to fracture Tom’s body, mind and emotions. The subsequent triple heart bypass in the Golden Jubilee hospital leaves Tom as a ghost in his own life, unable to recognise the man he has now become, and struggling to find a way back to his life as Giulia’s Hendo.

Told over three movements - Physical Bypass, Mental Bypass and Emotional Bypass - Tom’s distinctive, dry, self-lacerating voice leads the reader through the journey a man must go through to find purpose and meaning in a new life gifted to him by the surgeons.
